A Swayzee man yesterday was sentenced to six-years in prison with one-year suspended after he was found guilty last month of molesting a young girl in the summer of 2016.
43-year old Anthony Gibson was sentenced to five-years in prison and one-year on supervised probation for his conviction of fondling a young girl.
Gibson’s wife testified that the long sentence will create a hardship for her family, since she will be the only parent while he’s in jail and the couple has ten children.
The prosecution requested an even longer sentence.
The Gibson case became a public debate while he was free on bond awaiting trial. The case was debated by the Oak Hill School Board over its’ policy regarding who has access to school grounds while facing criminal charges.
