It’s National Walkout Day across the country, marking the one-month anniversary of the mass shooting at a Florida High School that left 17 dead.
Many schools held ceremonies and marches, seeking better safety for schools and changes in gun laws.
At Marion High School, several students walked out of class and marched around the school, but the students returned to class after 17 minutes…the amount of time that organizers asked for…marking one minute for each victim at the Florida attack. No students at Mississinewa High School walked out, but some students did at R-J Baskett Middle School, but returned to class in 17 minutes.
School officials say no students walked out at Oak Hill or Madison-Grant High Schools and there was no word on any walkouts at Eastbrook.
