Statewide Computer Science Courses To Begin in 2021

Computer science and training classes will be offered to all Indiana’s public school students as early as those in kindergarten starting in 2021.

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has signed a bill into law that will require computer training for students as young as five-years-old to help train young people for skilled jobs in the future. School districts can start as soon as they like but they won’t be required to offer the courses for another three years. The cost to each district will depend on the number of students, training and whether any additional teachers will need to be hired.
