Four Howard County farms and one from Tipton County were honored over the weekend with Hoosier Homestead Awards for their longstanding commitment to Indiana agriculture.
To be named a Hoosier Homestead, farms must be owned by the same family for more than 100 years and still produce ag products each year.
In Howard County, the Fisher and Wesley-Smith farsm were honored for 150-years of ownership by the same family, while the Eller and Tarkington families were honored with Centennial awards.
In Tipton County, the Achenbach family received a Centennial award.
