Indiana Legislator Plans To Introduce Sports Betting Law

After the Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law in May that banned sports betting in all but four states, a state representative wants Indiana to legalize it in 2019.

State Representative Alan Morrison of Brazil says he’s researched the laws that allow sports betting in several other states and says Indiana needs to take parts of their laws and make it work for Indiana.

Increasing the state’s revenue through gaming is the main reason Morrison says he’d like to see sports betting legalized in Indiana. He says he likes his odds of getting a bill passed in the 2019 legislative session.
