November Unemployment Skyrockets In Area

Although Indiana’s unemployment rate for November held virtually steady, unemployment in the Kokomo are skyrocketed, making it the highest in the state.

Howard County’s jobless rate was just 3.7-percent in October, but more than doubled in November to a whopping 8.3-percent…highest among Indiana’s 92 counties.  Miami County is second worst at 6.5-percent, Cass County’s jumped along with Tipton County’s to 7th-worst in the state at 4.7-percent.

In Grant and Blackford counties, the jobless numbers went up only slightly to 4.3-percent, with Delaware County right behind at 4.2-percent and Madison County at an even four-percent.

Wells County has the lowest jobless rate in this part of Indiana at 2.8-percent.

The state unemployment rate in November went up to 3.7-percent.
