Ford is recalling more than a million F-150 pickup trucks because the transmission can suddenly downshift into first gear.
Included are F-150s from 2011 through 2013 with six-speed, automatic transmissions. Ford says a glitch with the truck’s transmission speed software is to blame.
Recall notices will be sent to owners in early March. Ford dealers will update the truck’s transmission control software to fix the problem at no cost to the owner.
