Officials in Peru say they aren’t giving up on the Schneider Electric plant there just yet.
City, Miami County and state officials are working together on a set of incentives that they hope will keep the plant open in Peru, despite the announcement from the company earlier this month that Schneider would move all production outside of Indiana by the end of the year.
More than 300 jobs could be lost if Schneider closes the plant, which has operated in Peru since the early 1900s.
Miami County officials say they’ll offer whatever is possible to keep the plant open in Peru, despite the announcement.
