Marion Police have arrested two people in connection with the shooting death of a Marion woman late Saturday night and the wounding of her grandson.
Early this morning, officers arrested 32-year old Christa Kelly and 32-year old William McCarty of Marion on charges of Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Attempted Murder and Battery With a Deadly Weapon.
Kelly and McCarty were arrested in the 43-hundred block of South Lincoln Boulevard after police received a tip that they would be there. They are now being held without bond in the Grant County Jail.
Investigators say Kelly and McCarty got into an argument with 30-year old Jonathan Lovell inside a trailer in the Luida Trailer Park on West 17th Street late Saturday night. During the argument, shots were fired and Lovell’s Grandmother…65-year old Cheryl Mann…was struck in the head. She died early Sunday at a Fort Wayne hospital. Lovell suffered gunshot wounds to the arm and leg and is listed in stable condition at a Fort Wayne hospital.
Police are continuing their investigation.
