Farmer’s Almanac predicts ‘wild ride’ of ‘colder-than-normal’ winter temps

If you think the excessively hot summer has been miserable, just wait until winter.

The Farmer’s Almanac is predicting a “wild ride” of “colder-than-normal” temperatures for most of the country.

“Our extended forecast is calling for yet another freezing, frigid and frosty winter for two-thirds of the country,” editor Peter Geiger says.

The Northeast is expected to be hit with below normal temps and an excessive amount of snow, rain and sleet, the almanac predicts.

Across the Northern Plains, temperatures are expected to drop to as low as minus 40 degrees in a “polar coaster” of arctic weather conditions, according to the almanac.

“Occasional wet snow and unseasonably chilly conditions will hang on for a ride that you may not be able to get off until April,” according to the Farmer’s Almanac.
