State Rep. Ann Vermilion (R-Marion) was recently appointed to three House standing committees.
Vermilion will serve as a member of the House Courts and Criminal Code Committee, House Government and Regulatory Reform Committee and the House Insurance Committee.
“Committees play a critical role in the legislative process,” Vermilion said. “They provide lawmakers opportunities to hear from members of the public and experts on important issues impacting Indiana as we consider possible laws. I am eager to get started and contribute to these committees.”
Standing committees meet during the legislative session, which convenes each year in January. Committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
