Concern over the coronavirus is causing gas prices to go down in Indiana and many other states.
“It has stopped transportation in China. With China being the world’s second-largest oil consumer, there’s a hit there to petroleum,” says Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy.com.
He says the transportation shutdown means less oil demand.
Nearly 20 states have reported gas prices below $2 per gallon, including Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan, and DeHaan says prices in Indiana will continue to decline towards that $2 range.
