Marion Police officers have now released that a second person of interest has been arrested in the connection to the death of 30-year-old Deandre J. Oliver.
It’s also been confirmed that Oliver’s cause of death was determined to be “multiple stab wounds,” according to MPD’s Deputy Chief Stephen Dorsey. His official cause of death has been ruled a homicide following an autopsy.
That second person of interest is Anderson Jackson, 36, who was arrested on Tuesday and faces a Level 4 felony charge of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. He’s being held at the Grant County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
“Due to his intoxication level Jackson was unable to provide detailed information to police concerning the Oliver investigation,” Dorsey said.
Oliver’s body was found at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning in the 2000 block of S. Merdian St.
Cody Hickman, 27, was also arrested by police as a person of interest in Oliver’s death.
He faces a Level 1 felony count of attempted murder and a Level 3 felony count of aggravated battery. He has a $100,000 cash bond.
Hickman refused to speak with police concerning the Oliver investigation, Dorsey added.
This is an ongoing investigation as detectives continue to gather information as to a motive.
