ISP: Body of second victim in Grant County crash identified

The body of the second victim of a deadly crash in Grant County has been identified.

Last Wednesday at around 5:55 a.m. the Indiana State Police and Grant County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Road 26, near County Road 525 East.

The preliminary crash investigation by Senior Trooper Jeremy Perez and Senior Trooper A.J. Coffee revealed that a 2009 Pontiac G8 was traveling eastbound on Ind. 26 near County Road 562 East.

Garry Moore, 63, of Elwood, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck westbound on Ind. 26 near County Road 562 East. For an undetermined reason, the Pontiac crossed into the westbound lane causing a head-on collision with the Chevrolet. After the crash impact, the Pontiac caught on fire and had to be extinguished by firefighters, according to an ISP press release.

At the scene, police found Garry Moore deceased.

Police were unable to immediately identify the second victim until Friday.

That victim is 24-year-old Muncie resident Anthony Pence.

Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
