While investigating sexual assault allegations, officers with the Marion Police Department have arrested two men on multiple drug-related charges.
According to an MPD press release, officers were interviewing a juvenile about allegations of sexual assault, when the victim told officers about people who had drugs and firearms at two addresses.
After obtaining and executing search warrants, officers arrested 38-year-old Richard L. Jackson and 36-year-old Stephen W. Parker II.
According to the press release, Jackson is facing charges including possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, both level 2 felonies, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a Level 4 Felony, neglect of a dependent, a Level 6 Felony, maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 Felony and possession of paraphernalia, a class c misdemeanor.
Parker is facing charges of possession of a firearm by a serious violent offender, a Level 4 Felony, unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 Felony, and visiting a common nuisance.
According to the press release, an investigation into the sexual assault allegation is ongoing.
