LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The finale Jeopardy episode with Alex Trebek aired on Friday. The winning contestant on the show was Purdue graduate Jim Gilligan. He told WLFI that he has been a game show fan his whole life, and is no stranger to being on one. In 2000, he was a contestant on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,” and won $60,000. Gilligan said that Jeopardy, however, was his favorite to be on and that he was honored to share a stage with Trebek. He said he was thrilled to be on the show, but also heartbroken when he learned it was Trebek’s last show. He said being on the show has helped him reconnect with his Purdue family. Gilligan will be on the show Monday, with Ken Jennings as the host.
