Mississinewa Community Schools and Grant County Special Education Cooperative partner to buy a food truck

Mississinewa Community Schools and the Grant County Special Education Cooperative partnered for the purchase of a Food Truck. The Food truck will be used by the Grant County Special Education Cooperative students enrolled in the Impact program at IWU for a vocational pathway. The Impact program consists of students that have graduated from a high school in Grant County.  These students, ranging in age from 18-22, still have access to public education through their 22nd birthday

Mississinewa Community Schools will use the food truck for summer meal programs, Boomerang Backpack and Farm to Family programs, community engagement and emergency feeding.

School officials state that Mill Township ranks high in food insecurity and childhood poverty and believe this is another opportunity to close that gap for students in the school district.

Mississinewa Community  School owns the food truck and will enter into an MOU with the Grant County Special Education Cooperative.
