State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell is accused of spending the last six years signing illegal contracts and giving her campaign donors and political supporters millions of dollars, instead of investing that money in state funds. State law requires Mitchell to send the contracts through a strict approval process, but Mitchell admitted to not following state law in a video deposition in February 2016. Attorney Chris Wolcott says the contracts are clearly void and the money needs to be repaid immediately.
