A new historical marker in Clarksville will honor a visit by a former First Lady. On June 16, 1958, Eleanor Roosevelt visited Clarksville High School for the annual dinner of the Clark County Chamber of Commerce. She spoke for an hour about Russia, calling on Americans to “study and understand” the country in order to meet the Communist challenge. A marker commemorating her visit will be unveiled Thursday, Oct. 7, at the high school. The public is invited to the ceremony, which starts at 4 p.m.
