Health experts anticipate expanded age range for vaccine candidacy

Health departments expect COVID vaccinations to be expanded to kids as young as five within the next month. They’re getting plans ready for when the green light comes. Pfizer has submitted data to the FDA from clinical trials on younger patients. Marion County Health director Virginia Caine says she’s already talking with school districts about holding mass vaccination clinics. She’s also talking to pediatricians, who haven’t been a big part of the vaccine drive so far because the vaccine is only approved for ages 12 and up.
