The Indiana Department of Natural Resources wants you to recognize Bat Week! Bat Week is an international celebration to raise awareness about bat conservation. Bats are the only mammal capable of true flight, says Indiana DNR. Thirteen species of bat have been found in Indiana, including the Indiana bat, which is endangered. Bat Week started Sunday and runs through Halloween.
