Employees at Grant County Central Dispatch are stretched thin.
Interim Director Kevin Hicks went before the county commissioners yesterday to move from 8-hour shifts to 12-hour shifts to adjust to staffing issues.
Hicks told commissioners that central dispatch is currently at 50 percent staffing, with three new hires on the way and one currently going through testing.
Commissioners agreed to move to 12-hour shifts for the remainder of 2021, with the intent to reevaluate in January.
