Three penguins at the Columbian Park Zoo continue to recover from avian malaria, the disease that killed the zoo’s six other penguins. Donner, Sagely, and Shazam are gaining weight and have shown an increase in activity said Heather Woody, the head zookeeper, to the Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board. Woody added that zoo staff are hopeful the trio will recover and said additional tests are pending.
