Lawmakers will convene for a short legislative session in precisely two weeks. Once again a bipartisan group of lawmakers will be pushing to legalize marijuana use in some form. Both Republican State Rep. Jim Lucas and Democratic State Sen. J.D. Ford will be pushing bills to do that. Ford said in a discussion with Lucas, and Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears that more states are passing laws legalizing marijuana and Indiana to should be next. Lucas says people who use pot to ease pain or as a sleep aid are tired of feeling like criminals.
