COVID protocols cause concerns over college football

The coronavirus could ruin the ending for college football this season. The College Football Playoff Management Committee has put “additional precautions” in place to protect players and others. No numbers are cited in the committee’s announcement that was made Wednesday, but if a team is unable to compete because of an “insufficient” number of players, it could lead to the other team automatically being declared a winner. Although the chances are slim, the worst-case scenario would mean all four teams would not be able to play, and there would be no national championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
