An Elwood man died Tuesday morning in Grant County after his truck rear-ended a garbage truck. Indiana State Police say 22-year-old Corey Carter was headed south on Strawtown Pike just before 7 a.m. when his Chevrolet Avalanche crashed into the back of a stopped Mack garbage truck. Carter died before he could be taken to the hospital. The driver of the garbage truck, 51-year-old Trina Walker, was not hurt. The lights on Walker’s garbage truck were activated at the time of the crash, according to Indiana State Police.
