Indiana’s infant mortality remains the same as pervious year

Indiana’s infant mortality numbers for 2020 are about the same as the year before. Last year, 522 Hoosier babies died before their first birthday. The death rate was twice as high among African-Americans. State health commissioner Kris Box says the biggest causes of baby deaths are sleeping habits, like laying babies on their stomach, along with low birth weight and mothers who smoke.
